GTAAN Summer Symposium 2016
The GTAAN Summer Symposium is an opportunity for Georgia Tech advisors and student service professionals to spend a day on professional development and networking. On even numbered years, we convene in June to focus on a specific topic of special interest to Georgia Tech.
The 2016 Symposium will focus on “Cultivating Student Wellbeing” and will feature keynote speaker Suzy Harrington, Georgia Tech’s new Director of the Center for Community Health and Wellbeing. In addition to a keynote address that considers the relationship between advising and wellbeing, the Symposium will include a student panel, an interactive workshop, a networking lunch, and four afternoon training sessions:
Plan, Prep, and React: Active Shooter Response Options
A Day in the Life: LGBTQIA Student Experiences at Tech
Students in Need: Homeless Students at Georgia Tech
Question, Persuade, Refer: Suicide Prevention
Visit the “Keynote & Program” sections for more details on the keynote speaker and the program schedule. Once you’re ready to register for the Summer Symposium, visit the “Registration” section. Registration is only $25 (ask your department to support you), and breakfast and lunch will be provided.
We look forward to seeing you there!
