August 10	2006-2007 Academic Year Kick-Off *SCC, Piedmont Room* Our first meeting of the year will get your year started on the right foot. Representatives from the Dean of Students Office, FASET, the Registrar's Office and the Student Success Programs will be there to tell what's new and what to expect for the upcoming semester. Also, the new Student Academic Services Professional Development Program (SASPDP) for advisors will be unveiled. In addition, an exciting new part of the GTAAN meetings, the Tech Report of the Month, will help advisors keep up to date on the latest in technology used in the field and by students. Agenda Minutes
September 7	Peer Advising *SCC, Crescent Room* This month's session focuses on Peer Advising. Time management is essential for advisors. Are there ways to use peer advising to help? Find out who is using peer advising and why, and how it might be used by advisors in the future. Also, the Tech Report of the Month focuses on Facebook to enhance your communication with students, or to just better understand how students relate to each other. October 12	Readmissions: Rethinking the Process *SCC, Crescent Room* The readmission process varies from department to department. Currently, assessment results suggest our currrent system isn't working well. We will discuss new ideas being discussed for campus-wide changes in the process, and get your feedback. In addition, the Tech Report of the Month focuses on Collegewebeditor/HigherEdExperts, an independent, popular, and influential blog and website about the Web, marketing, and PR in higher education. November 16	Petition Process *SCC, Crescent Room* This session unlocks the mysteries of the petition process. What really goes on in the IUCC? What advice does the Registrar's Office have regarding petitions? What makes a successful petition? This month the Tech Report of the Month focuses on Instant Messaging, the fastest way to communicate with other advisors and students. December 7	International Plan and Research Option *SCC, Crescent Room* Representatives from the International Plan office and the Research Option will come to give information and insight into these degree granting programs. They will highlight which departments participate and what students are doing in their programs. The Tech Report of the Month will focus on another new and useful technology to be determined at a later time. Suggestions welcomed. Research Presentation
January 17th	Happy New Year- GTAAN Social Event Ferst Center Gallery Special Time: 4:00pm-5:30pm What better way to start 2008 than with a social! Lots of good food and raffles. More details to follow, but mark your calendar now.
